The Best Cooling Fans to Use For Indoor Cycling

When it comes to indoor cycling, you get boiling and sweaty. You waste a lot of energy keeping your body cool and losing the valuable power you could put towards that personal best. I feel uncomfortable when I get too hot, and with very little circulating air indoors, I find it challenging.
Overheating when training is a big issue. Our bodies run about 25% efficient. What this means is 25% of our body while we are pedaling goes to the pedals. The 75% is the body managing itself, so the less stress you can put on this management, the more your body can focus on peddling the spin bike. It’s free speed, and we have to take advantage of that.
I recently have started using a high-power fan, and it’s making my time training indoors much more enjoyable than ever. Fans for indoor cycling are very different compared to fans for everyday use. They need to still be very quiet and very powerful as the demand for cooling is so much more. In this article, I want to tell you about five of the best fans for indoor cycling you can buy from Amazon currently.
Buying Guide
Before Reading these reviews it’s important to understand what you need to look for in a fan. If you already have a fairly ventilated space then it’s a good idea to go for something smaller and less powerful. If you have a space which doesn’t have much ventilation then you’re really going to want something strong. Also think about the space it will take up and how it will look in the room. It’s important to buy right first time so you don’t end up spending more later.
Vornado 783 Whole Room Fan
17 used from $79.86
This fan is something special, and it had to be the first one I spoke about. The way Vornado’s work is pretty unique. They use deep fan blades which twist the air, so when they hit something in front of them, the air goes off into different directions and circulates the room better. The next thing to mention is the size. It’s tiny but packs a punch. It comes on an adjustable stand, but not only does the stand adjust, but it is also height adjustable. It comes with three different speeds, and it’s known for being quiet compared to other fans, even at max power. This is all well and good, and also it comes with a five-year warranty.

Amazon Basics Oscillating Dual Blade
Amazon produces many products themselves, and the budget range for Amazon is called the Basics. This is their basic fan, and by all means, it’s good. It’s a 16” standing fan which has been made for total room circulation. It’s tranquil, and it’s straightforward to use and clean. Compared to the Vornado 783, it has less power but does come with the ability to circulate and has a remote control and a timer. Although it might not be as strong, it can do more, and it’s a third of the price.

PELONIS PFS40D6ABB
The Pelonis is very different from the Amazon Basics and also the Vornado 783. Instead of using a three-blade system, this fan uses a five-blade system. Because of this, it is much quieter and requires much less power than the other fans to run. Also, it runs with a DC motor rather than an AC motor, further reducing the running costs. It’s height-adjustable and also can oscillate. Unlike the other fans having three or four speeds, this fan has twelve different levels of power. Like the Amazon Basics, it comes with a year Warranty and boasts a minimal price compared to the Vornado.

Home 36” Oscillating Tower Fan with Remote
This list wouldn’t be complete without a tower fan. This is the Home Tower fan, and it is very different from the others in many ways. It is not as powerful as the others on this list, but it does have qualities that must be spoken about. Firstly its floor space it takes up is tiny and much less than the others. The blow pattern can go over the whole body, not just a single area. It can oscillate, and it is by far the quietest on this list. Three speeds low to fast will cater to general home use and some spinning, but as mentioned before, it doesn’t have the power of some of the other fans. What I love about this fan is that it fits into an ordinary room without looking too industrial. Comes with an LCD Display, remote and timer too.

Hurricane Floor Fan – 20 Inch, Pro Series,
3 used from $52.50
The Hurricane is a mighty fan and probably the most powerful on this list. It will have absolutely no problem in keeping you cool; you might even struggle to hold on to the bike. It’s something. Unlike the other fans on this list, it is made for industrial use. It is by all means not quiet, it’s pretty loud, but if you are not worried about noise, then this is the fan for you. It’s got no time and no remote. It is just an elementary powerful fan. It can be wall-mounted or rests on the floor. This fan is incredible but is extremely basic.

Geek Aire Fan
I was really excited to speak about this next fan as it really is something very different to all the others. Unlike all the other fans on this list this doesn’t require mains power, it actually runs off a battery and is rechargeable. This makes it perfect if you don’t have a plug socket close. It is only 12” compared to the other being bigger but on a single charge can last up to 20 hours. It has a stepless speed control so you can adjust it differently to having levels of power. It’s not going to be as strong as the other fans but for mobility it’s really handy.

The Final Verdict
These are all fantastic fans, and I do rate them highly. I would go for what would suit the room the best if you have a small flat, the Home tower fan if you have a separate garage, the Hurricane. Whatever you pick will help you improve your riding and make you feel much more comfortable. For myself, the fan has to be the Vornado. It’s mighty and looks classy in my training room. It may be simple, it may be expensive, but it works amazingly.
