Amongst the luxurious line up of Octane’s standing commercial elliptical machines ─ the XT-0ne elliptical stands tall, proud, and prolific.

The Octane XT-one elliptical machine is the newest among the bunch. It was recently launched as part of Octane’s high-end line of standing commercial elliptical machines that include; Lateral X, XT4700, XT3700, Pro3700 classic, and pro 310 trainers. The XT-one elliptical trainer leads the pack in terms of incline adjustability and track design. Unlike the rest, the XT-one elliptical trainer incorporates an adjustable incline ramp that stretches from 1 to 10 (10⸰-28⸰). The XT-One’s covered track and rollers are also a step ahead of the others as they adopt a unique linkage system. On the whole, the XT-one is a cocktail of “body-defining” and “sweat-breaking” mechanics and amenities.

Built to deliver on satisfaction and results, the XT-one is an everything-rolled-into-one machine that allows for a wide range of mobility; users can use the machine to walk, run, hike, and climb. Exercisers can choose from 10 incline levels, 30 resistance levels, and adjust the stride length from 20 to 28 inches. The premium trainer also offers two console options (standard and smart consoles) to maximize workout productivity. Considering that the XT-one elliptical machine is earmarked for commercial use, it is no surprise that it has a substantial maximum user weight capacity. Constructed with high-quality materials with precise attention to stability and durability, the XT-one can support a heavy workload and user-weight. In line with this, exercises within a 400Ibs (181kg) weight range can use this machine without undesirable incidents and discomfort.

Additionally, the XT-one’s extensive stride range and low step-up height can support a wide range of body types and heights. In other words, you don’t have to worry about height or body incompatibility. The step-up height is approximately 5 inches from the ground. This means that exercisers can easily step on the machine without being thrown off-balance. This feature is also beneficial for clubs or fitness facilities with ceiling constraints ─ though the vast majority of fitness facilities are built with plenty of room and ceiling clearance to accommodate the ceiling needs of different exercise equipment.

Designed as a space-efficient elliptical trainer, the XT-one elliptical machine is guaranteed to spare some room for your other fitness equipment. The compact footprint is all the proof you need. The XT-one footprint measures an average of 33″ × 75″ (84 × 191 cm). In an active or live area, it extends a bit to 33” × 92” (84 × 234 cm). The machine itself weighs 395Ibs. No doubt, the XT-one is a bulky machine, but transport wheels’ inclusion makes the weight bearable for transportation purposes. Speaking of power requirements, the XT-one is either self-powered or electricity-operated, depending on console choice. The standard console is self-powered, while the smart console requires a plug-in to work. On the flip side, the XT-one does not fold for storage.

The XT-one elliptical machine comes with two console options; a standard and a smart console. The XT-one standard console features a large LED display screen with integrated capacitive buttons, a 3-speed cooling fan to suppress heat, and 17 workout programs. The console is user-operated and requires no cords to power on.

The XT-one smart console is the improved version of the standard console. It is fitted with a 10” glass capacitive touch screen display, 21 workout programs, Wifi-connectivity, video streaming, web applications, 3-speed cooling fan, and wireless heart rate compatibility with Bluetooth 4.0, ANT+, and polar. Users can access Octane’s signature workout boosters (X-mode, Glute power, and arm blaster) that target specific muscle groups on both consoles. Regardless of the session, these specialized programs are easy to activate for in-the-moment interval training.

In addition to these workout boosters, users can also access a slew of advanced workout programs via Octane’s patented SmartLink technology. A key SmartLink feature is the cross circuit video training. It serves as a virtual fitness instructor and guides users through 225 exercises and 35 workout programs. And don’t be alarmed by the broad range of programs; you can easily narrow the list by selecting the muscles to be targeted and your workout plan. Both consoles also support USB charging for mobile devices. All-in-all, your clients are in for a treat!

The piềce de rềsistance of the XT-one elliptical machine is the adjustable incline motion. It has 10 incline levels so exercisers can enjoy true-to-life hiking, walking, running, and climbing experience. To be specific, users can alternate between 1-10 incline levels to simulate their choice training. And we can’t ignore the “pleasing fact” that the adjustability can accommodate varying user capabilities and size. It is easy to focus on different muscle groups by changing the incline level as the workout progresses. Talk about adding a dash of variety to workouts. To decrease or increase the incline, press the “incline (+) and (-) buttons” on the console. 1 is the lowest incline, while 10 is the steepest.

To further enhance user-satisfaction and drive positive results, Octane incorporated a smart stride technology into the XT-one elliptical. Your club members can simulate outdoor walking, running, and jogging by taking advantage of the smart stride feature ─ which automatically adjusts the stride’s length from 20 inches to 28 inches based on the exerciser’s pace. From session to session, the smart technology leverages variety and functionality to encourage motivation and good results. Hence, your clients can actualize their fitness goals in record time. Increasing and decreasing the stride length involves pressing the stride (+) and (-) buttons (respectively) on the console. Each key press equals one and a half inch or one centimeter. The pre-set stride length for resistance and heart rate-based programs is 24 inches. It is 28 inches for forward or long strides and 24 inches for backward or short strides for variable stride programs.

Everyone knows that workout intensity is a core element of all workout regimens, and what controls this important exercise factor is the resistance. We are pleased to know that the XT-one takes resistance seriously. With 30 adjustable resistance levels, users are sure to sweat it out in the gym. And if they’d like to go easy or at a moderate pace, the XT-one resistance is more than willing to oblige. To regulate the resistance, simply look for the icon labeled ‘level” on the console and press the “+” and “–”buttons, which increases and decreases the resistance.

With the XT-one elliptical machine, Octane left no stone unturned. Each feature was conceived and designed with meticulous attention to detail. The XT-one handlebars are a product of this mastery and creativity. They sport a unique converging and multi-grip design aimed at promoting upper-body ergonomics. Because they follow the natural path of the arms when walking or running, they permit users to fully engage their upper body (which often takes the back seat when using traditional handlebars.)

Using the XT-one multi-grip handlebars, users can explore various arm positions, change their grip, and hone in on different muscles in the arms, chest, and back areas. What more, Digital contact heart rate sensors and fingertip controls are integrated into the moving handlebars. Users can monitor their heart rate via their sensors and easily control their stride length and incline levels via the fingertip buttons.

The XT-one elliptical trainer is also furnished with cushioned and oversized pedals to provide comfort and practicability. Although the actual spacing measurement is not specified, the pedals are narrowly spaced ─ which means the user’s body is naturally aligned from head to toe, which helps lift pressure off the back. Another notable feature of the pedal system is the double-wheel track design with a linkage system. What this means is that the wheels provide ample support and stability for the pedals. Plus, they are sure to last for a long time.

The XT-one elliptical machine is embellished with several accessories and add-on features. Expectedly, a water bottle and device holder is attached to the machine. The console integrates convenient shelves and pockets for phones, tablets, iPods/MP3s, and other portable electronic devices. Notably, the smart console features an additional tablet/reading rack set at a comfortable angle, so exercisers can get some reading when they work out.

The add-on features include Cross Circuit Pro Stands, Integrated PVS TV kit, sidestep platforms, and a 900 MHz wireless receiver. The cross circuit kit consists of mounted weight stands and adjustable power block weights that adjust up to 30 pounds. The Personal viewing system (PVS) is a 15.6 inches user-friendly touch screen LG TV that delivers top-notch personal entertainment so that members can enjoy an endless stream of shows and TV channels. With the additional side step platforms, users can quickly disengage their feet from the moving foot pedals. This encourages the optimum use of the moving handlebars to engage the upper body effectively. The XT-one optional 900 MHz wireless receiver improves the quality of audio entertainment.

Setting up the XT-one elliptical trainer entails attaching the frame end covers, the moving handlebar, the mast boot, the console mast, and the console to the pre-assembled base. Tools required for the setup include; a 6mm hex wrench (included in the box), two 13 mm wrench, a 17 mm wrench, and a #2 Philips screwdriver. The assembly is pretty straightforward and time-saving. If you happen to buy any or all of the add-on accessories, you will have to fix them on the machine as well. Fortunately, detailed instruction manuals are provided to guide you through the process. Considering the substantial weight of the XT-one elliptical, two or more people are recommended for its assembly.

The Octane XT-one elliptical trainer is in a league of its own. It is an exceptionally brilliant and sturdy workout machine with multi-functional features. There aren’t many machines that can simultaneously support walking, running, jogging, and climbing. For this reason, the XT-one deserves to be celebrated. Regardless of weight, body build, and skill-level, the XT-one elliptical trainer is up to the task. Also, users get to choose between two consoles and are provided with optional side steps, cross circuit stands and weights, a PVS TV, and an audio transmitter ─ so what more can one possibly ask for! The only major downside to the XT-one elliptical trainer is the high price point, but considering that it embodies multiple workout machines, the cost is reasonable. You will also get excellent value for your money ─ because your clients will find the machine hard to resist! However, if money isn’t on your side, you can consider the Octane XT3700, which is cheaper and offers nearly the same function as the XT-one elliptical. But unlike the XT-one machine, the XT3700 lacks an auto-adjustable stride and has just the walking and running functions. But here is the thing, no matter the standing commercial-grade elliptical you buy from Octane fitness, quality and functionality are assured!

Hi, my name is Sayed Hamed Hosseiny. I am a professional health and fitness trainer with nearly 20 years of experience using ellipticals, rowing machines, and spin bikes. I also have my own EU-based Rock Fitness Pro fitness brand where I design, import and sell exercise equipment such as rowing machines and spin bikes. I and writers on my team also often receive fitness equipment to review and evaluate their functionalities and performance from tens of different exercise machines manufacturers. Fitness equipment tips, guides, reviews, and comparisons on this website are my opinion (and opinions of my fitness expert colleagues) based on tens of criteria. I never accept payment to write reviews of products or say positive things about fitness equipment products.
