Bowflex Max M7 Review and Specs:

The Bowflex Max M7 cross trainer has a maximum user weight capacity of 300 pounds which is great because it means it accommodates users of all sizes. Also, the higher the weight capacity, the more stable the machine will be, especially during intense workout sessions. The Bowflex Max M7 dimensions are 49″ L x 30.5″ W x 65.5″ H. The Bowflex Max M7 is a bit large and it has a large footprint so you’ll need at least two feet of clearance all around the trainer. If your home gym has limited space, this could be an issue.

The Bowflex Max M7 ceiling requirements demand that your ceiling is at least 15 inches taller than you. The Bowflex Max M7 is also portable, but it’s not foldable. That means you won’t be able to fold it up and tuck it away whenever you need. The Bowflex Max M7 is also 148 pounds, so it has a heavy base with rubberized pads. This means your workout will be a lot more stable.

Overall, the Bowflex Max M7 provides the same high level of quality the Max Series is known for. It’s suitable for different types of users and it’s designed for trainees of all fitness levels, so it will prove challenging for anyone. The Bowflex Max M7 is super durable and sturdy, not to mention it’s also effective and packed with features. Let’s continue with the Bowflex Max M7 review to learn what more it has to offer!

Bowflex Max M7 Monitor

The Bowflex Max M7 comes with two main displays, one at the top that shows you calorie burn rate, total calories burned, and a benefit zone that shows you the fat burn, performance, and endurance stats on an LED display. The Bowflex Max M7 also has an LCD display that will show you the workout program you’ve chosen, average calorie burn rate, target goal, average RPM, average heart rate and the resistance. The Bowflex Max M7 provides 20 levels of computer controlled resistance and 11 preset workout programs.

The Bowflex Max M7 11 workout programs provide plenty of options for trainees of all fitness levels. The workout programs are organized into two categories Target Coaching workouts and Benefit Mode workouts. Among the workout programs you’ll find options such as Max 7 minute interval, Max 14 minute interval, Max 21 minute interval, Calorie Burn, Fat Burn, Power Interval, and so much more. The Bowflex Max M7 also offers 4 user profiles, so 4 different people will be able to set up a profile to track their progress and save their data.

Another great thing about the Bowflex Max M7 is the Bluetooth connectivity, which is compatible with the Bowflex Max Trainer app as well as other fitness apps such as MyFitnessPal so you can export your data. The Bowflex Max M7 also offers wireless heart rate monitoring with a chest strap that’s included or you can use the contact grip system that’s built into the handlebars. Either way, you’ll be able to measure your heart rate and keep an eye on your heart rate zone during your workouts.

Bowflex Max M7 Stride and Incline

Because the Bowflex Max M7 is a combination of an elliptical and a stepper, it has an oblique elliptical path with a 90-degree angle. The motion on the machine will simulate stair climbing, but because the pedals slightly change angles with each movement, the stress on your joints will be virtually eliminated. That’s why this is a zero impact machine!

The Bowflex Max M7 stride is not adjustable and the vertical length is around 10” while the horizontal length is 4”. The Max M7 has no user height limit, meaning that it will accommodate users up to 6’7” tall. However, shorter users under 5’ might find that the step-up distance is a bit too long for them. That being said, they will still be able to exercise properly, so it might not be a deal-breaker. The Bowflex Max M7 elevation is up to 19”, which is why the Max M7 ceiling requirements state that the ceiling should be at least 20” higher than the user.

The Bowflex Max M7 also has a short Q-Factor at 1.5 inches. The Q-Factor, which refers to the space between the pedals, plays an important role in the user’s comfort. At 1.5 inches, you will enjoy a more natural feet positioning, which means motion will be much more comfortable and there will be no lateral stress on your knees and ankles. Overall, the Bowflex Max M7 is a great machine that will fit a variety of users and provide all of them a comfortable, secure, and safe workout experience.

Bowflex Max M7 Handlebar and Pedals

The Bowflex Max M7 is equipped with three sets of handlebars. First, the Bowflex Max M7 features mobile handlebars with a multi-grip design. This design allows users to try different grip positions, such as low, high, parallel, and horizontal grips. At the bottom of the console, the Bowflex Max M7 offers fixed handlebars that feature pulse sensors. These handlebars are great for when you don’t want to engage your upper body during your workout sessions.

Last but not least, the Bowflex Max 7 features aero handlebars which are found at the top of the console. If you use these handlebars, the fixed handlebars will serve as an elbow rest. Plus, the top of these aero handlebars feature the tablet holder of the machine. All three handlebar sets come with high-density foam grips for your comfort and for maximum adherence during your workouts.

The Bowflex Max M7 features heavy-duty pedals. These pedals are 8.5” wide, which means they’re large enough to accommodate athletic shoes of any size. The Max M7 pedals are also articulating and they change the angle slightly as you step. The Bowflex Max M7 offers the best handlebars and pedals in the Max Series. They paid a lot of attention to user comfort with this design and the handlebars and pedals are a big part of that. They’re not only comfortable, they’re sturdy and long-lasting, worthy of a premium exercise machine such as this one.

Bowflex Max M7 Accessories and Assembly

The Bowflex Max M7 features a tablet holder above the console for your tablet or smartphone. The Max M7 also features an accessory holder and a water bottle holder so you can remain hydrated and active during your workouts. Sadly, the Bowflex Max M7 doesn’t feature cooling fans. However, the tablet holder allows you to enjoy your entertainment that way. Considering all the other features it provides, this is not a big deal-breaker.

The Bowflex Max M7 assembly process is straightforward. As always, they provide an assembly manual that lays out the process step by step so you can follow along. The assembly process for the Max M7 will take around an hour and a half, and you may need someone to help you. If you can’t find anyone to help you out, you’ll still be able to do it on your own, but it may take a while longer.

The package will include all the Bowflex Max M7 parts and they also provide the tools you need for assembly. If you don’t want to do the assembly yourself, you can always hire a professional to do that for you. However, this will cost you an extra fee. The Bowflex Max M7 requires little maintenance. You will need to check the integrity of the parts every once in a while and re-tighten bolts as necessary. Lubrication may also be necessary, especially if it’s squeaking. But that’s about it!

Bowflex Max M7 Warranty, Price, and Shipping

The Bowflex Max M7 warranty is decent and it’s a bit better than what other machines in the Max Series provide. They offer 3-year coverage for the frame, 3-year coverage for parts, and 3-year coverage for labor. That seems to be enough coverage, especially for such a well-built, sturdy, and high-quality machine. Of course, other machines on the market at this price range offer a fuller coverage, but Bowflex trusts their product very much.

If you happen to have any issues with the machine, the Bowflex customer service has your back. To contact them, all you need to do is call 1 (800) 605 – 3369. If you have any doubts or are experiencing issues with the elliptical, you can contact them and they will clear things up for you.

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, the Bowflex Max M7 has been discontinued, but you can still find it on Amazon. The Bowflex Max M7 costs $2,998 so it’s on the expensive side of the spectrum. After all, it is a premium machine and it’s a beast. It’s full of features and it provides users with multiple options, not to mention it accommodates a great variety of users and it provides a challenge for everyone. The Bowflex Max M7 comes with free shipping as well!
